CARSON CITY, NV – March 20, 2018
Governor Brian Sandoval has appointed Dixie Grossman to the Second Judicial District Court.
“Dixie has an impressive history of family law experience and I am pleased to appoint her to this position,” Governor Brian Sandoval said. “I am confident that the attention and passion with which she treats all those who enter her courtroom will make her a strong addition to the Second Judicial District Court bench.”
A graduate of the University of Montana, Dixie Grossman is currently a Juvenile Court Master for the Second Judicial District Court. While in law school, Grossman participated in the school’s legal clinic and was selected for the Margery Hunter Brown Assistantship, which provided stipend funding while Grossman researched, wrote and presented on the topic of domestic violence. She graduated 17th in her class of 86 students and was admitted to the Montana bar in 2001. Immediately after graduating law school, Grossman accepted a clerkship at the Family Division of the Second Judicial District Court, where she was supervised by Judges Deborah Schumacher, Charles McGee and Frances Doherty. In 2008, Grossman joined the firm of Silverman, Decaria & Kattleman, where she worked until she was chosen as a Juvenile Court Master in 2013.
Grossman has authored multiple articles on family law topics, served on the Steering Committee for the Juvenile Justice Reform and State Courts Initiative and the Executive Council of the Family Law section of the state bar.
“I am honored that Governor Sandoval has appointed me to the Second Judicial District Court,” Dixie Grossman said. “I thank him for the trust he has placed in me and I look forward to continuing to serve the people of Washoe County.”
